Hours after New Zealand canceled its cricket tour of Pakistan, England’s scheduled tour of the Asian nation was called into question, and the ECB said it would assess the war situation in the country plagued by war and in the next 24 will make a decision on the series. -48 hours. New Zealand decided to take its team out of Pakistan just before the first one day after its cricket board received a security threat. England are expected to travel to Rawalpindi in October for two Twenty20 Internationals, in what will be their first visit to Pakistan since 2005.

“We are aware of New Zealand’s decision to withdraw from the Pakistan tour due to a security warning,” an ECB spokesman told ESPNcricinfo.

“We are liaising with our security team who are in Pakistan to fully understand the situation. The ECB Council will then decide within the next 24-48 hours whether our planned tour should continue.”

The cancellation of the tour in New Zealand is a major setback for the revival of international cricket in Pakistan.

Although some international cricket and Pakistan Super League (PSL) matches have been held in the country, major Test nations still have to travel to Pakistan for full-fledged tours.

Western India will travel to Pakistan later this year. Australia will also tour Pakistan early next year.
