Mumbai Indians will try to defend their IPL title when the tournament resumes on September 19 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). -win performances from 2020 this year. The West Indies versatile player and his wife reached the UAE on Friday. Pollard said the team has “fond memories” of their campaign last year in the UAE. The Mumbai Indians defeated Delhi Capitals by five wickets in the match IPL 2020 Final to win an unprecedented fifth IPL crown.
Mumbai Indians were in fourth place in the IPL points ladder when the tournament was postponed in May after a Covid outbreak in the IPL bio-bubble between teams.
West Indian star Kieron Pollard has said the team will “try to get back on track” and repeat last year’s performance in the UAE.
“Yes. Look forward. Go downstairs in the team room and try to make a band again and get started. Looking forward to finishing the IPL and hopefully we can repeat what we did here last year. Good memories for us,” said Pollard in a video posted by Mumbai Indians on their official social media handles.

I got into the habit of starting the tournament slowly, but things were not very different this year either. They started their IPL 2021 campaign with a defeat in the opening match for Royal Challengers in Bangalore under the leadership of Virat Kohli.
The defending champions returned with consecutive victories, but lost two on the run to Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings to achieve just two victories from five matches.
Before the tournament was stopped, Mumbai Indians scored two more wins to score 8 points from seven games in IPL 2021.
They beat league leaders Delhi Capitals by four points, after playing one game less.
