Bayern munich wing Kingsley Coman underwent surgery to correct an irregular heartbeat, the German champions announced on Friday. The 25-year-old French international will return within two weeks, coach Julian Nagelsmann said. “He had a slightly irregular heartbeat, a slight heart irregularity. We did a long-term ECG and performed this operation,” Nagelsmann said. “He is doing very well and he has little wound pain. Once the wound has healed, he can start rehabilitation and it will not take more than ten days to two weeks before he is back in full training.”

Coman will miss the next two Bundesliga matches against Bochum and Greuther Fuerth, while it is also unlikely that he will play in the next clash of Bayern with Dynamo Kiev.

Despite concerns about the heart’s well – being of the players after Denmark midfielder Christian Eriksen’s cardiac arrest during the European Championships this summer, Nagelsmann was keen not to exaggerate Coman’s condition.

“It sounds a lot more dramatic than it is,” the coach said.

“It’s not that blatant, it has several people,” he said, referring to Coman’s recent breathing problems.

“But it makes a difference whether my biggest effort is to go to the fridge and drink a cool beer – whether I’m a competitive athlete.”
