Francesco Bagnaia won a wicket for the San Marino MotoGP with a new record time during Saturday’s qualifying. Ducati rider Bagnaia, who won his first family doctor in Aragon last weekend, finished a lightning best time of one minute, 31,065 seconds in Misano, ahead of teammate Jack Miller and championship leader Fabio Quartararo. It was a second wicket for Italian Bagnaia as he aims to make two consecutive wins ahead of home support on Sunday.

The 24-year-old defeated Quartararo by 53 points in the overall standings.

Valentino Rossi continued his poor weekend at home after slipping off the track early in the first quarter, his second accident of the day in his penultimate visit to Misano before retiring at the end of the season.

The motorcycle legend starts on Sunday from 23rd place in the roster, not what the motorcycle legend’s 23,000 fans would like to see at Misano.
