Jasprit Bumrah joined an elite list of players on Sunday to put on the Mumbai Indians jersey. Bumrah steps out at Dubai International Stadium to play its 100th IPL match as the 2021 season resumes in the UAE with a clash between MI and its rivals Chennai Super Kings. Bumrah thus became only the sixth player to reach the milestone. The pacemaker received a special jersey by Zaheer Khan, director of cricket operations at MI, with the number 100 behind.
After joining Mumbai before the 2013 season, the Indian international took 115 wickets in 99 matches for MI ahead of the clash with CSK. MI went to social media to welcome their star bowler and posted a photo of him with the jersey that Zaheer gave:

In the running season that started in April this year, Bumrah was not in his best condition. He managed to score just six wickets in seven games, before the tournament was postponed halfway due to an increase in COVID-19 cases in the bio-safe bubbles.
With the resumption of competition in the UAE, Bumrah will hope to put on some good performances for the defending champions and help them qualify for the playoffs.
The Mumbai franchise is without regular captain Rohit Sharma for game 30, with Kieron Pollard leading the team in his place.
