Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by nine wickets on Monday in match 31 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021. With the goal of 93, the KKR starting batsmen, Shubman Gill and the debutant Venkatesh Iyer, 82 runs around the opening wicket while they were over the game with 10 overs. Kohli previously won the toss and chose to bat against Eoin Morgan-led KKR at Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.

The decision was reversed when seam bowler Prasidh Krishna sent him for five packs with a swinger wrapping the RCB captain on the pads. After passing LBW through the referee on the field, Kohli made a review, but the repetitions confirmed that the ball would have the stump cut.

Lockie Ferguson sacked Devdutt Padikkal in the sixth over. He remains the top scorer with a beat of 22 runs.

KKR bowlers equalized when Andre Russell and Varun Chakravarthy picked up three wickets each while Ferguson took two wickets to bowl out RCB for 92 in 19 overs.

Kyle Jamieson, Yuzvendra Chahal and Wanindu Hasaranga were all expensive and gave away runs with more than 10 runs per innings.

Chahal managed to score the wicket of Shubman Gill, but not before the young opener scored 82 runs with Venkatesh Iyer.

Varun Chakravarthy was named player of the match for his team of three for 13.

With the victory, KKR moved to fifth place on the IPL 2021 points ladder while RCB remains in third place despite a heavy defeat in Abu Dhabi.
