Punshab Kings’ left-arm rival, Arshdeep Singh, picked up five wickets for the first time in his career on Tuesday when he helped his team limit Rajasthan Royals to 185 in the Dubai International Stadium in the running Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021. Arshdeep selected the wickets of Evin Lewis, Liam Livingstone, Mahipal Lomror, Chetan Sakariya and Kartik Tyagi and finished with figures of 5/32 from his four overs. Arshdeep gave PBKS the breakthrough after RR started fleetingly when he sacked Lewis for 36. The Punjab bowler then got the crucial wicket from Livingstone for 25 just as the latter was underway.
With Lomror taking over the mantle for RR with a quick knock, Arshdeep struck again as he removed the 21-year-old for 43. He then completes his fiver by removing Sakariya and Tyagi from the last two deliveries of the innings.
Earlier, the captain of the PBKS, KL Rahul, won the toss and decided to let RR bat. RR looks comfortable on the field and has built up early momentum with the good start from Lewis and Yashasvi Jaiswal.
Jaiswal scored 49, but RR did not let the innings end as PBKS bowlers sharpened the last overs.
RR have only been able to score 21 runs from their last four overs. Without four of the first five in RR’s batting list, the rest could not reach double figures.
Mohammed Shami also had an impressive period when he finished with figures of 3/21 from his four overs. Ishan Porel and Harpreet Brar each got one wicket.
