Despite the Punjab Kings ending up on the wrong side of the result, their captain was KL Rahul enjoyed a personal milestone when he was the second fastest victim in IPL to reach 3000 runs and the fastest Indian to do so. Rahul, who reached the milestone of 3,000 IPL runs in 80 overs, was only second to Chris Gayle in the list, who achieved the feat in 75 overs. However, a strong start by Rahul and Mayank could not succeed PBKS past the 186-run goal set by Rajasthan Royals as they fall short by just 2 runs.

Mayank showed a remarkable shot during his 67-pointer in 43 balls with seven fours and two sixes.

Earlier, RR opening batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal fought hard in the middle against the PBKS bowlers to collect 49 runs, which ultimately was of cardinal importance.
