Survey reveals 21 million Americans say Trump must be restored by force

A majority of Americans consider Trump’s January 6 uprising and attempted coup a blatant attack on America’s fragile democracy. However, a new report reveals that the attack on the country’s Capitol was nothing compared to what a very large number of Americans believe Trump should return to the White House.

During Adolf Hitler’s vicious Nazi regime, the fascist dictator’s propaganda minister, Joseph Goebbels, repeated a phrase explaining why America’s democracy hangs in the balance. Goebbels said:

If you repeat a lie often enough, people will believe it, and even you will believe it yourself. ”

Trump began repeating the lie that the 2020 election was stolen from him immediately after media began calling the election for then-candidate Joseph R. Biden. The lie increased exponentially as states began certifying the election results, and with a group of propagandists employed by Trump, this apparent lie became a fervent conviction among Republicans of all walks of life.

This lie brought down the deadly insurgent attack and attempted coup on January 6 when Trump sent his treacherous army to “fight like hell ” to save “your America. ”

Despite the evidence that the BIG lie is a monumental canard to encourage Trump acolytes to take action and donations, the real danger goes far beyond the despicable attack on the country’s capital.

In a recent reported survey conducted by non-partisan researchers at NORC at the University of Chicago, the researchers searched “to discover how widespread the resurrection feelings are among American adults. ”

The results of the survey are frightening to any American who believes the January 6 uprising was just a departure. This undoubtedly proves that Trump and his thugs who repeat a lie often pose a clear and current threat to the national security of the United States – it is also a call that America’s democracy is in great danger.

According to the results of the survey, the proof that the repetition of a lie is long enough is the truth for angry Trump supporters, because 25% of adults strongly or somewhat agree that:

The 2020 election was stolen from Donald Trump and Joe Biden is an illegitimate president. ”

The poll also found it 9% of American adults say they agree that:

Use of force is justified in restoring Donald J. Trump to the presidency. ”

The researchers noted that among the 21 million who believe that Trump should be violently restored by the president as president, 68% believe that violence will also be necessary to preserve America’s traditional way of life – think “make America white again. ”

The survey also revealed that the same percentage of Americans who believe Trump is being re-elected president by force embrace the white supremacist and evangelical views that:

African Americans and Hispanics in our country will eventually have more rights than whites “- a belief that sometimes”the Great Replacement.

And this “A secret group of satan-worshiping pedophiles rules the US government; ”A fundamental belief in the QAnon movement.

The survey noted that among those who support violence, Trump has reinstated:

Many of the 21 million people with rebellious feelings have the ability to mobilize violently. At least 7 million of them already own a gun, and at least 3 million have served in the U.S. military and deadly skills. Of the 21 million, 6 million said they supported right-wing militias and extremist groups, and 1 million said they knew themselves or personally a member of such a group, including the Eedwagters and Proud Boys.

Researchers reported that the insurgents who attacked the Capitol on January 6 represent a much more general movement than any earlier cases of violent right-wing extremism. In fact, only 14% of the traitors arrested for the January 6 attack on the Capitol are members of right-wing extremist groups. “More than half are business owners or middle-aged white-collar workers, and only 7% are unemployed. ”

There have always been marginalized anti-government groups, typically white supremacists and evangelical fanatics, longing for a second revolution or overthrow of the government. But as research shows, the MAGA movement is not ‘edge’, small or isolated. It’s a massive movement that Trump worships and clings to his every word; including when he has to raise himself up and use violent means to re-establish himself in the White House.

However, no one should blame Trump for repeating the BIG LIE that the election was stolen from him.

It is true that Trump and his agents like Michael Flynn, Rudy Giuliani, Matt Gaetz and Marjorie Taylor Greene publicly incite the MAGA to be faithful to violence, but they are not solely responsible for spreading the BIG LIE.

Every Republican in Congress, state-level politician and right-wing media expert is as guilty as Trump for no other reason than to remain silent about Trump’s BIG LIE if they could just as easily deny punk’s blatant false allegations.

Republicans will not cross Trump or his insurgents because they need their election support or know full well that Trump’s contradiction will make them the target of the violent extremists.

The time they had to speak was immediately after the election when this clear and present danger could be germinated. But they did not. It’s no wonder why the majority of Americans are still right believe democracy is being attacked.

It makes one wonder how many of the Republicans in Congress and state houses are part of the 21 million who believe Trump should be reinstated by force. One suspects that the number is significant, and that in itself is a frightening prospect.
