Brett Kavanaugh, co-judge, hot tested positive for Covid-19, a rare breakthrough infection. He has been fully vaccinated since January. He currently shows no symptoms of the virus.
“Judge Kavanaugh’s wife and daughters were also fully vaccinated, and they tested negative on Thursday,” spokeswoman Patricia McCabe said. “As a precaution, Justice and Mrs. Kavanaugh will not be living after Justice Barrett’s investment this morning.”
McCabe noted that all the other judges had been tested and that their tests were negative for Covid-19. Kavanaugh tested positive before the ceremonial investment of co-judge Amy Coney Barrett.
It is not clear how the positive test result of Kavanaugh will affect personal arguments at the Supreme Court, which would resume on Monday for the first time since spring 2020.
