Erling Braut Haaland said on Monday that he will miss the coming Norway World Cup qualifiers with a leg injury during his club Borussia Dortmund. The 21-year-old striker has missed the German team’s last three matches with the issue and will also be set aside for international matches on Friday and in Montenegro. “Hello people, sorry I was not ready for the national matches. I was looking forward. Anyway, good luck to Norway,” Haaland tweeted.

Norwegian team doctor Ola Sand said the withdrawal from Haaland was a precautionary measure.

“The injury appears to have subsided, but its development has unfortunately been too slow,” he said in a statement from the Norwegian Football Federation.

“There are also risks of complications if he returns too quickly.”

Norway, who are second behind the Netherlands with the goal difference in their qualifying group for the 2022 World Cup, will also be without forwards Alexander Sorloth and Joshua King.
