Texas officials prepare for what may be the largest group of illegal migrants ever to the border

State officials in Texas are preparing for a group of 60,000 Haitian migrants who want to enter the United States illegally.

The group, if it stays that big, could possibly be the largest that has ever tried to cross the southern border.

According to a report of the Washington Examiner, ‘the number of Haitian migrants en route to the US could be four times greater than the group that reached Del Rio last month, which could lead to chaos when 15,000 people camped under an international bridge and waiting to be taken into federal custody. ”

State and local law enforcement may not arrest illegal aliens for immigration crimes, but they can arrest them for trespassing. Governor Greg Abott said he had prepared the Texas National Guard to do so.

“Texas National Guard is ready for the border for increasing caravans trying to cross the border as a result of Biden’s open border policy,” Governor Abbott tweeted. ‘They are working with the Texas Department of Public Safety to seal floodplains at the border and arrest intruders.

The examiner’s report further stated that ‘a further 60,000 Haitians are to the US, beyond the 20,000 who came to Del Rio last month. Another 30,000 Haitian migrants are trying in Colombia to cross the border into Panama. ”

Many of the Haitians have been living safely in South America for years, which means they do not need the asylum that some have tried to claim.
