India beat Spain 3-2 in their first group match of the continuation match Uber Cup Sunday in the Ceres Arena in Aarhus. In the second doubles match, Ashwini Ponnappa and Sikki Reddy lost to Clara Azurmendi and Beatriz Corrales 18-21, 21-14, 17-21.

India’s Uber Cup team now plays Scotland on 12 October, followed by Thailand on 13 October.
