English versatile player Ben Stokes indicated on Monday that he is making progress in repairing his finger injury after posting a photo on social media of him holding a cricket bat. The 30-year-old removed two screws and scar tissue from his left index finger last week after breaking them in the toy. Indian Premier League in April. He added five smiling face emojis in the photo and said ‘Ohhh aye boy’ on his posts on Twitter and Instagram.
Stokes took an indefinite break from cricket in July to prioritize his mental health, but retained his central contract in England.
But his withdrawal from cricket and the injury mean he was left out of England’s Ashes squad on Sunday.

Stokes has not played for England since July when he cut short his injury rehabilitation to offer the one-day squad against Pakistan on short notice following a coronavirus outbreak.
Stokes will not appear in the T20 World Cup starting on October 17 in Oman and the UAE, and is unlikely to return to the Ashes.
