Faf Du Plessis has class and power in the IPL 2021 final when he scored 86 runs off 59 balls to drive Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to a whopping 192/3 total against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). du Plessis shared a 61-run stand with his opening partner Ruturaj Gaikwad, who was sacked after scoring 32 runs from 27 deliveries. du Plessis was fired from the last delivery of CSK’s innings when he wanted to hit a sixth. As a result, the veteran South African missed out on passing his opening partner Orange Cap light.
Gaikwad finishes the season with 635 runs from 16 overs and takes the Orange Cap at the end of the final as no KKR batsman is able to revise his score. He faced the biggest competition from his opening partner, but du Plessis eventually finished with 633 runs from 16 overs. It was a great season for the duo as they scored more than 50 percent of the total runs CSK scored, and that was the basis for the team’s success this season.
Gaikwad scored his runs with an average of 45.35 and a strike rate of 136.26. He achieves a century and 4 half centuries during the season. Du Plessis was at his best at his best and scored 6 half-centuries and averaged 45.21 at a strike rate of 138.20.
Punjab Kings captain KL Rahul finished at the top of the standings at the end of the league phase with 628 runs from 13 overs at a huge average of 62.60.
