Bangladesh captain Mahmudullah had to interrupt his post-match press conference after his side suffered a six-run defeat against Scotland in the ongoing T20 World Cup Sunday. With a chase of 141 for the win, a star full Bangladesh team could score just 134 runs in their allotted 20 overs. After the match, Bangladesh captain Mahmudullah answered media questions, but he had to stand still for a few seconds while Scotland players celebrated their victory by loudly signing their national anthem. The captain of Bangladesh patiently waited for the Scotland players to finish their national anthem and then responded to the media.

Cricket Scotland took to Twitter to share a snippet of the press conference and wrote that they will keep the noise going next time.

“Sorry, we’ll keep it off next time,” the video was captioned.

They also praised Mahmudullah for being calm in another tweet.

After failing to chase 141 against Scotland, the Bangladesh captain said his batsmen were not good enough and that the team should pull their socks off in the coming matches.

“I think the wicket was pretty good and 140 could have been obtained. We missed the one big over in the middle. Bowlers did their job very well, but the batting unit was not good enough tonight,” Mahmudullah said.

“Yes, if you can not chase 140, there must be a look, the mistakes must be corrected. We must still be positive and find out where we made mistakes, and not try to repeat them. Beautiful wicket after bat on, fantastic ground and crowd, we have to pull up our socks and play better cricket, ”he added.
