The election for the governor of Virginia is in a little over ten days and the Democrats are starting to panic.
Two things unfolded in this race. Democrat Terry McAuliffe was a terrible candidate, and Republican Glenn Youngkin was a very good candidate.
Democrats did not expect this race to be even close. Now it’s starting to look like Youngkin can win.

A creeping sense of concern among Democrats over the governor’s race in Virginia came to light on Wednesday, following the release of a new poll at the University of Monmouth showing former Democratic Gov. Terry McAuliffe is less than was caught with Republican Glenn Youngkin two weeks before election day …
The Monmouth poll was the latest in a series of data points to raise concerns about McAuliffe’s prospects. While other recent polls in Virginia have shown that McAuliffe has limited the lead, President Joe Biden’s national ratings have declined to a majority disapproval of his tenure, while his agenda still stalled in Congress.
The Democrats’ internal polls elsewhere are equally bleak because they want to retain their slim majorities in Washington. And the rise among early and post-voters, which Democrats often view as a barometer of enthusiasm, paints an uncertain picture two weeks later.
“There will be panic. There is going to be consternation. But what I want to say to donors and agents is, ‘You have to worry, so pay attention and spend resources on this,’ ‘said Tim Lim, a longtime Democratic strategist. ‘The same thing is happening in California. Once the Democrats started paying attention and enrolling it, the numbers changed. The same can happen in Virginia. ”
Maybe Virginia is ready for a change.
