Lauren Boebert slams Rolling Stone report suggesting Republicans helped plan Jan. 6 riots

Representative Lauren Boebert slammed Rolling Stone magazine over an “EXCLUSIVE” report indicating that GOP lawmakers were involved in planning the events that took place at the Capitol on Jan. 6, saying, “They lied.”

The magazine reports that two unnamed “organizers” allege several lawmakers assisted in planning and carrying out the Capitol riot.

The organizers describe “participating in ‘dozens’ of planning briefings before that day when Trump supporters broke into the Capitol as his election loss to President Joe Biden was certified.”

Those unnamed sources are likely to reveal themselves when Rolling Stone reports that they are actively collaborating with House investigators.

They were, according to the outlet, even given a promise of a “blanket waiver” from the Oval Office over any actions they could get involved with regarding January 6th.

However, not everyone bought the story.

Journalist Glenn Greenwald pointed out that mainstream outlets do not exactly embrace the report and even suggested that the magazine simply spread a “clickbait headline”.

Rep. Lauren Boebert hits Rolling Stone

Lauren Boebert (R-CO) was specifically mentioned in the Rolling Stone report.

“Rolling Stone separately obtained documentary evidence that both sources were in contact with Gosar and Boebert on January 6,” the outlet claimed. “We do not describe the nature of that evidence to maintain their anonymity.”

A strange pursuit of anonymity considering several organizers of the events of January 6 has already been mentioned and hit with subpoenas by the House House Select Committee investigating the Capitol riot.

Boebert forcibly denied any connection to the riot or even the mostly peaceful protest that took place beforehand.

“Once again, the media acts as a message tool for the radical left. The leftists falsely accused me of giving a reconnaissance tour. In fact, I visited the Capitol with my family, “the congresswoman said in a statement.

“They lied and claimed that my mother was the ‘bull horn lady’. She was not. “They lodged an ethics complaint against me for alleged involvement in activities on January 6, but the complaint was rejected because it was simply not true,” she continued.

“Now Rolling Stone grabs straws and uses anonymous sources and poor reporting to attack me,” Boebert added. “Thank you, next.”

Republicans respond to Rolling Stone’s exclusive January 6

Other GOP legislators mentioned in the report also had problems with Rolling Stone’s version of events.

“The whole thing is their same playbook,” representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) told the Daily caller. “Make up a story, publish it, then rinse off all the other outlets and repeat.”

Rep. Madison Cawthorn (R-NC) referred to accusations in the Rolling Stone report as “complete rubbish” while Greene further accused them of being a “pathetic piece of junk”.

Violence with premeditated counsel?

Anti-Trump lawmakers have long argued that the Capitol riot was not a spontaneous event. Rather, they paint it as a premeditated attempt to overthrow the government.

Representative Liz Cheney (R-WY) claimed just a month after the riot that a “massive criminal investigation” was under way to determine whether former President Donald Trump was guilty of inciting “premeditated” violence on the Capitol.

President Joe Biden claimed last week that “white supremacy” was the driving force behind Trump supporters who objected to the 2020 election.

“The violent, deadly uprising on the Capitol nine months ago, in my opinion, was about white supremacy,” he said.

Past Rolling Stone Exclusive Blow Up

In 2014, Rolling Stone published a sensational story about rape claims at a University of Virginia fraternity that was eventually proven untrue.

The magazine was finally forced to withdraw the story.

“We came to the conclusion that our trust in her was misplaced,” Rolling Stone wrote about the source behind that story.

Now, seven years later, they are running a sensational story with some nameless ‘organized’. Anonymous sources who may or may not try to save their own skin when it comes to the January 6 investigation.

Will this be a repeat of their 2014 bomb story?
