A new media attempt to repel disinformation is being put together by billionaires George Soros and Reid Hoffman. The new venture is ironically called “Good Information, Inc.”

Hoffman will help launch the project with a multi-million seed effort. Hoffman co-founded LinkedIn with Soros and investors Ken and Jen Duda, and Incite Ventures.

Axios reported, “The group will be led by Tara McGowan, a former Democratic strategist who previously ran a progressive non-profit organization called ACRONYM.”

“We are announcing our investors because we believe – especially at the moment in this environment of mistrust – that transparency is really important,” McGowan told Axios.

Axios noted that “Good Information Inc. will invest in new businesses and solutions that address the disinformation crisis. This could mean financing new or existing companies that boost news from existing news outlets. ”
