DeSantis Claus: Florida Ports Reports Record Volumes as Governor Promises to Save Christmas

Florida ports have reported record volumes in 2021, even though supply chain shortages are thriving under the Biden administration. The news comes because Gov. Ron DeSantis has promised to do everything he can to save Christmas during the crisis.
The Jacksonville Port Authority (JAXPORT) handling reported a record volume of all-time in 2021, processing more than 1.4 million twenty-foot-equivalent units during the year. The number indicates an increase of 10% from 2020.
Port Manatee announced similar success.
“Despite addressing supply chain issues plaguing the country, Port Manatee has broken a record for imports with increased production,” Bay News 9 reports.

DeSantis saves Christmas?
The success of the ports handling record volume comes because Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has taken a very different approach to saving Christmas than the Biden administration or the media.
Supply chain issues have become so common in recent times that the White House officials warned regarding Christmas shopping this year, “There will be things that people can not get.”

The Washington Post subsequently sought coverage, demanding that Americans, rather than complain about the supply crisis, simply lower their expectations for the future.

“We will do ourselves a favor by consciously lowering expectations,” advised a recent WaPo opinion, which ultimately told the public not to worry because “eventually the supply chain will be rectified.”
DeSantis well has no designs to simply let the Biden administration figure things out.

DeSantis: Florida is open for business
DeSantis last week tried to lure cargo ships to bring their wares to Florida.
“When you start talking about supply chain, inflation, it is not something that will affect a small segment. “It hits very wide and very hard,” he said.
“Florida is here, we have capacity and we also have incentive packages to make it worthwhile to bring your business through our ports.”
One Twitter user shared a video showing cargo ships in Florida ports in action.

There is no indication that the above video is of a ship previously stranded in California that made its way to Florida under the leadership of Governor DeSantis.
But it does show a move cargo ship as opposed to this scene in Cali.

The White House has announced its intention to alleviate the supply chain crisis through round-the-clock operations, something DeSantis said is already standard practice in the Sunshine State.
“I am especially proud of Florida’s seaports. “They are crown jewels in our state,” he said.
“While other U.S. ports are now only announcing 24-hour operations, many of our ports in Florida are accustomed to serving farmers, families and businesses in Florida with 24-hour operations.”

Operating 24/7 is in sharp contrast to Biden Transport Secretary Pete Buttigieg, who, as the crisis warmed up and Americans became more anxious about supply chain issues, was found to be on paternity leave for about two months.
DeSantis exploded the White House for the crisis coming after the holidays.
“As the rest of the nation faces rampant inflation and businesses face unprecedented supply chain problems, our message is this,” he announced.
“Florida is here… and we’re going to make sure Americans get their Christmas presents this season.”
