NYC supports mass exodus as police and firefighters say no to Vax mandate

Monday may go down in history as one of the more shameful days in the history of New York as warnings about a large departure of New York City police officers due to Mayor Bill DeBlasio’s vaccine mandate come into being.

Members of New York’s Finest have until Monday to be vaccinated or placed on unpaid leave.

According to the New York Post, the department has already sent guidance to officers who are willing to leave service rather than obey the mandate.

NYPD rankings and file are not happy

Currently, one quarter of the NYPD is unvaccinated. Even more so for exemptions would be submitted and allowed to keep working and get paid while the releases are pending. Those officers will be expected to be tested weekly and adhere to stricter mask policies.

It is not yet known how many officers are willing to hang it.

President of the Detective Endowment’s Association, Paul DiGiacomo, estimates that more than 9,000 to 10,000 detectives and officers are eligible for some form of retirement.

DiGiacomo also indicated another reason for what he described as a “rabbit” to vaccinate. “The only reason why the mayor is in a hurry for his own political gain. “He has plans to run for governor and he has nothing to hang on to now, except to say he has the most vaccinations in the country by forcing people to do so.”

FDNY joins

It’s not just police either. The mandate applies to firefighters.

Members of the NYPD joined members of the FDNY to argue of the Gracie Mansion, home of Mayor de Blasio.

Andrew Ansbro, president of the Uniformed Firefighters Association, says a lawsuit against the vaccine mandate will be filed by the union.

Ansbro added that, “It’s a personal choice that everyone wants to make for themselves.” He projects up to 45% of New York City’s firefighters could be terminated due to the mandate.

Such a large number would be unfathomable.

Ansbro blames any critical shortage of first responders at the feet of DeBlasio. “We were here every day of the pandemic and we will still be here on November 1. It will be the mayor who separates you from the people of New York and what happens to them will be up to him, not us. ”

First responders to face the Vax ax across the nation

Unfortunately, the men and women of the NYPD are far from alone. Vaccine mandates are popping up in cities all over the nation. Many of those cities are, not surprisingly, cities that have been run by Democrats for decades.

Places like Spokane, Washington, Chicago and Los Angeles are forcing police officers to make a choice between their careers and to comply with what some believe are illegal vaccine mandates.

In Seattle, more than 300 officers left power in 10 months. In Massachusetts, the state police union estimates they will lose 150 officers.

A judge on Thursday denied a restraining order to block the mandate requested by the largest union representing New York City police officers.

Now is the time to support and share the resources you trust.
