India captain Virat Kohli could be tempted to retain the same playing squad that beat Afghanistan by 66 runs on Wednesday when they take on Scotland in another Super 12 match of the ongoing 2021 T20 World Cup on Friday in Dubai . After India lost in their first two matches against Pakistan and New Zealand, India bounced back with a comfortable victory over Afghanistan. However, the team’s hopes in the semi-finals depend on results in other matches. India will need New Zealand to lose one of their remaining matches to have any hope of advancing to the semi-finals.
Here is the XI we think could play against Scotland:
Rohit Sharma:The veteran starting batsman has returned to form with a commendable fifty against Afghanistan and will try to build on that beat.
KL Rahul: KL Rahul has also beaten Afghanistan for half a century and will give India a good start again.
Suryakumar Yadav:He did not get a chance to bat against Afghanistan, but will probably retain his place in the team.
Virat Kohli: After scoring a fifty against Pakistan, Kohli will once again try to score a big score on Friday.
Rishabh pants: The wicketkeeper-batsman played a confidence-boosting beat against Pakistan and finished well against Afghanistan. He is an important big hitting option.
Hardik Pandya:A key finisher in the batting list and now bowling back after recovering from an injury, Hardik is an important part of the team.
Ravindra Jadeja: His great hitting ability with the bat and his top fielding are key evidences to have along with his ability with the ball.
Shardul Thakur: In a good run of form this year, Shardul can provide his team with breakthroughs with the ball and can also kick in with the bat occasionally.
Ravichandran Ashwin:The veteran spinner was excellent against Afghanistan when he returned to international cricket with limited overs when he took two wickets in an economic period. He will look to continue with another great show.
Mohammad Shami:The pacemaker has returned to form against Afghanistan with three scalps and will look at more wickets against Scotland.
Jasprit Bumrah: Bumrah is an important part of the Indian setup and will hope to tip a few wickets against Scotland.
