Following the tragic incident, Scott said in a statement Twitter“I am absolutely devastated by what happened last night. My prayers go out to the families and everyone affected by what happened at Astroworld Festival. Houston PD has my total support as they continue to watch the tragic loss of life. I “is committed to working with the Houston community to heal and support families in need. Thank you to Houston PD, Fire Department and NRG Park for their immediate response and support. Love to you all.”
The Astroworld Festival Instagram account confirmed that the festival, initially a two-day event, will no longer be held on Saturday, November 6th.
“Our hearts are with the Astroworld festival family tonight — especially those we lost and their loved ones,” the festival’s statement read in part. “We are focused on supporting local officials as much as we can.”
“As authorities mentioned earlier in their press conference,” the statement continued later. “They are looking at the series of cardiac arrests that have taken place. If you have any relevant information on this, please contact @HoustonPolice.”
Promoter Live Nation said in their own statement, “Heartbroken for those who were lost and affected at Astroworld last night. We will continue to work to provide as much information and assistance as possible to the local authorities as they investigate the situation.”
