India kept alive their hopes of achieving the T20 World Cup semi-finals with a massive eight-wicket win over Scotland in a Super 12 match on Friday in Dubai. After India bowled out the Scots for a meager 85, India chased the target in just 6.3 overs. gives their net run rate a massive boost. But India still rely on Afghanistan to beat New Zealand to have any chance of making the final four. If New Zealand beat the Afghans in their last Super 12 match on Sunday, India will be out. When asked about this scenario during the press conference following India’s victory over Scotland, Ravindra Jadeja came up with a blunt answer to leave everyone in tears.
If Afghanistan beats New Zealand, only then do we have a chance. But what if Afghanistan could not beat New Zealand? asked a journalist.

On Friday, things fell into place perfectly for India from the outset. Virat Kohli eventually won the toss and let Scotland bat and from then on it was one-way traffic as India dominated proceedings.
Mohammed Shami and Ravindra Jadeja each took three wickets while Jasprit Bumrah took two when Scotland were bowled out for 85 in 17.4 overs.
Only four Scottish players got double figures.
KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma gave India a brilliant start and added 70 runs around the opening wicket in just 30 balls. Rahul struck a 19-ball 50 while Rohit struck 30 off 16 balls in India’s whirlwind work.
Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Kumar got things done when India took just 39 balls to reach the target.
India will hope Afghanistan will do them a huge favor by beating New Zealand on Sunday.
