The semi-final between New Zealand and England held a moment of silence in honor of Mohan Singh, the curator at Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi who passed away on Sunday. The International Cricket Council had earlier encouraged the death of Mohan Singh, who had died before the start of the New Zealand-Afghanistan match. “We are deeply saddened and our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends, Abu Dhabi Cricket and all those involved in the event,” an ICC spokesperson said in a statement.

Coming back to the semi-finals, it was New Zealand captain Kane Williamson who won the toss in a crucial semi-final against England and they will bowl first.

As Jason Roy is ruled out due to injury, it will be Jonny Bairstow who will open for England alongside Jos Buttler.
