South Africa’s Marais Erasmus and England’sRichard Kettleborough was named the referee on the field for the T20 World Cup final between Australia and New Zealand. India’s Nitin Menon will act as the TV referee in the summit. The final is scheduled to be held on Sunday. “Referees Marais Erasmus and Richard Kettleborough will take on field duties in the final of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 which will be played between Australia and New Zealand at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday,” the ICC said in a statement.
Menon, who is the only Indian referee in the ICC elite panel, will be the TV referee while former Sri Lanka spinner Kumar Dharmasena will be the fourth referee. Considering that he is performing in his first men’s World Cup, it is a significant achievement for Menon.
While Australia defeated Pakistan in the semi-finals, New Zealand put it past England for the summit.
The final will be hosted by match referee Ranjan Madugalle.
