How to Say Emily in Paris, According to the Creator

Before we can say “hello” for season two of Emily in Paris, we need some clarity on how to say the program’s name.

For those in need of a revamp, in November 2020, Netflix claimed in a tweet that we had been mispronouncing the name of the show all along. My God, it’s uncomfortable!

“Friendly reminder Emily in Paris is supposed to be pronounced with a French accent, so ‘Emily’ and ‘Paris’ rhyme, “the streamer wrote in a tweet at that point.

But before you start lusting and saying “Emily in Par-ee,” the creator of the series, Darren Star, tell Entertainment Weekly in an interview that this is not necessarily the case. “For those who like to put it this way, I’m all for it,” Star said. “But for me it is Emily in Paris. ”

Star also fixed a few other things, including the fact that Lily Collinher character, Emily Cooper, is suppose to be annoying. “I can see why people were irritated by it,” Star explained. “But that’s part of her learning curve, and that’s where the tension lies in the show.”

We hope Emily gets a little mature when season two begins on December 22nd.
