For anyone who has doubted Joe Biden, today, while signing the largest investment in infrastructure since the Eisenhower era, is the day to admit they were wrong.

Biden said, “My fellow Americans, today I want you to know, we hear you, and we see you. The account I’m going to sign in to law has been proven that despite the Democrats, Democrats and Republicans can come together and deliver results. ”
Today, Uncle Joe – also known as the President of this United States, signed the Democrats’ once-in-a-century, $ 1.2 trillion Infrastructure Investment and Labor Legislation. And somehow President Biden, Speaker Pelosi, and Majority Leader Schumer even managed to get a scattering of Republicans to vote yes to something Democrats proposed, with 19 Senate and 13 House Republican votes. That achievement makes this bill not only historic, but in these times an incredible achievement.
Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) helped drag this bill across the finish line with the perseverance that has come in identifying the most effective House Speaker in modern history.
Predictably, however, 200 House Republicans were unable to break with the grip their party has on the commitment not to pass legislation that motivated them to vote no on almost anything that could help the American people. Leader Kevin McCarthy is actually threatening his Republican members who voted for work and against pitfalls. Republicans have gone so far as to label patriotism Democrats’ “socialist wish list.” It did not go as they thought it would and so they quickly deleted their tweet:
The game-changing, historically popular infrastructure bill is loaded with patriotic investments in our country, long needed, and with benefits that include hard-working families, including the creation of millions of well-paying union jobs. It will modernize and improve our roads, bridges, ports, railways and supply chains, and yet the Republican leadership of the House – which complains about supply chains now that there is a Democrat in office – calls it socialism.
Maybe it’s jealousy that drives McCarthy’s cynicism, after all, Republicans promised week after week that it’s infrastructure week ‘and yet it never came. Instead, we got Donald Trump to glorify the virtues of domestic cleaning that are injected into our veins as a way to fight Covid-19 and whine daily about the commonplace in the press.
Is it broadband access for tens of millions of Americans – or is it perhaps making it more affordable and equity-focused, that’s the issue for Republicans? Is it socialism? Their rural voters will be crushed.]
It could be that clean power grid or the clean water – that might be where socialism burns. Not trying to kill children with toxic chemicals is something (the one or two real Democratic Socialists in Congress) seems to be proud of, but what do they know about the burning desires of the American people.
Maybe it’s the cost. Someone needs Republican Senator Rob Portman, who said, “It was paid. We do it without raising taxes. ” Democrats say the bill pays for itself without raising taxes, using various measures.
Although Fact check bumps, and this will contribute to the deficiency. But why do we focus on the cost – of this, as opposed to the cost of having our army deployed in Afghanistan – when our country crumble around us, bridges and dams what failed?
While we can well understand the Republicans’ objections to funding for drought management and wildfire mitigation – nothing says socialism like not letting the country burn down to punish the libs.
But indeed, the adults are in control now – for this brief period before Democrats lose the House in the medium term (unless you get all your friends to vote) and the adults do that thing called … their “work.”
For anyone who writes about “Democrats in Disorder” as their easy heading every time Democrats try to do heavy lifting for the people, today is the day to admit that they are wrong. This is the account we have not seen since FDR. It is a bill that, although not supported by the progressive caucus, is actually a great achievement of progressive values. This is the bill that made me in America, union-supporting grandfather would have cried with pride. It’s full of the best kinds of patriotism, the kind that actually make this a better country and help the real people who live in it have better lives.
It’s a day to be very proud of this president and to take a necessary break from the terror and chaos of the past five years to remember, that’s what voice can do. Voting did it.
You, the people, have done it. Congratulations, take the win.
