New Zealand spinner Ish Sodhi scored one of the best catches of his own bowling on Sunday and turned it down. Rohit Sharma, Captain of India in the third T20I at Eden Gardens Stadium in Kolkata. During the 12th over of India’s innings, Rohit, who batted at 56, tried to hit Sodhi’s delivery straight to the ground, but the Kiwi bowler showed excellent reflexes to take a brilliant catch with one hand. The ball bounced harmlessly off the post, though. Rohit Sharma was the replacement.

India beat New Zealand by 73 runs on Sunday to clear a clean sheet in the series of three matches. After choosing to bat, India managed to score a total of 184/7 after winning the toss against New Zealand in Kolkata.
Rohit and Ishan Kishan got India off to a good start when the pair added 69 runs around the opening wicket.
However, New Zealand’s replacement captain for the match, Mitchell Santner, was given the opportunity and Ishan Kishan (29), Suryakumar Yadav (0) and Rishabh Pant (4) quickly fired in succession, reducing India to 83/3.
Rohit continued to complete his half-century before being undone by the good capture of Sodhi. Shreyas Iyer, Venkatesh Iyer, Harshal Patel and Deepak Chahar then made handy contributions and took India to a solid total.
In response, New Zealand were bowled out for 111 when the Indian bowlers put on a brilliant performance at the Eden Gardens. Martin Guptill scored the Kiwis with a good score of 36 balls 51 while Axar Patel was the bowlers’ choice for India after scoring figures of 3/9.
It was India’s first series victory under new head coach Rahul Dravid and new T20I captain Rohit Sharma.
The Kiwis will now try to save some pride in the upcoming two-match Test series, which starts on November 25th.
