Brazilian star Neymar was sidelined with an ankle injury during Paris Saint-Germain (PSG)’s recent Ligue 1 match against Saint-Etienne on Sunday. Despite his injury, PSG eventually secured a 3-1 victory with Lionel Messi scoring a hat-trick of assists. Neymar’s injury occurred in the last few minutes of the game when a sliding barrel saw his ankle twist under the opponent’s leg. The former Barcelona forward was visibly in pain and was taken away in tears.
The extent of the injury is not yet known, with no official statement from the French club.

The match also saw the long-awaited debut of former Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos, who joined PSG during the summer transfer window.
Saint-Etienne took the lead after 23 minutes, as a result of Denis Bouanga’s awkward, but ultimately successful, shot from the right. But Saint-Etienne’s confidence collapsed at half-time when Timothee Kolodziejczak received a red card from the referee on Kylian Mbappe.
The Paris team then leveled the match with Messi assisting Marquinhos, who scored with just a header just with the time of half-time.
