Dr. Anthony Fauci was asked about Sen. Ted Cruz who asked for his prosecution, and he responded with a laugh and by asking Cruz what happened on 1/6?
MARGARET BRENNAN: Senator Cruz told the Attorney General you should be prosecuted.
DR. FAUCI: Yes. I have to laugh at that. Should I be prosecuted? What happened on January 6, Senator?
MARGARET BRENNAN: Do you think it’s about making you a scapegoat to distract …
DR. FAUCI: Natural-
MARGARET BRENNAN: – From President Trump?
DR. FAUCI: Of course you have to sleep not to find out that one.
MARGARET BRENNAN: Well, there are a lot of Republican senators aiming for this. I mean-
DR. FAUCI: That’s right, I’m just going to do my job and I’m going to save lives and they’re going to lie.
MARGARET BRENNAN: There seems to be just another layer of danger in playing politics around matters of life and death.
DR. FAUCI: Right, exactly. Exactly. And for me, it’s incredibly bad, because all I want to do is save people’s lives. This is what I have been doing for the past 50 years, of which 40 years were 37 leading the institute.
Dr. Fauci has had enough of Republican liars
Dr. Fauci has clearly had enough of Republicans smearing him to cover up for Trump’s COVID incompetence and neglect. He let Rand Paul get it during a recent Senate hearing, and he made it clear that he would not be a Republican punching bag.
Ted Cruz tried to score cheap political points, but Dr. Fauci made it clear that if anyone deserves to be prosecuted, it’s the senator from Texas who helped incite the 1/6 attack.
