India vs New Zealand, 2nd Test Predict XI: Ajinkya Rahane Can Substitute Virat Kohli

Team India is expected to make some changes in the second Test match at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, from 3 December. With Virat Kohli making a comeback after a much-needed break, substitute captain Ajinkya Rahane could be the one making way for the regular captain. In the bowling division, veteran pacemaker Ishant Sharma could be left out and is expected to be replaced by the impressive Mohammed Siraj. With everything to play for in the decision in Mumbai, Team India will strive to start with their strongest team, with Shreyas Iyer from the previous Test’s captain.

Here is our team India predict XI for the second Test against New Zealand:

Shubman Gill:Team India will be prepared to give Gill an extended run under new head coach Rahul Dravid. Gill endured a decent thinning out and scored a fifty in the first innings of the first Test.

Mayank Agarwal: Mayank has been under the pump for some time now and his poor performance in both innings of the first Test has not helped his case either. With an important Mumbai Test on the way, Mayank will try to improve his total of 30 runs from the first game.

Cheteshwar Pujara:Pujara will kick himself after starting to throw away in both innings. Getting out in the mid-20s is what he will want to improve on when he goes into the second Test.

Virat Kohli:Kohli’s inclusion in the group can be discussed the most, as he could be the one replacing substitute captain Ajinkya Rahane.

Shreyas Iyer:Shreyas Iyer will be the first name to make it to the final XI for the Mumbai Test after his more than impressive debut. He scored an epic century and followed it up with a fifty in the second innings.

Ravindra Jadeja:Jadeja had a mixed header in the Kanpur Test. He started with a bang when he chased after another fifty, but could not get off the mark in the second innings. With the ball, he took one wicket in the first innings and followed with impressive figures of four wickets for 40 runs in 28 overs in the second innings.

Wriddhiman Saha:With KS Bharat showing great potential behind the wickets, Saha had to put in a decent performance to retain his place in the team. He did not stay out on 61 runs and led India to put a decent target on the plate.

Ravichandran Ashwin: Ashwin finished with a total of six wickets and also scored 70 runs in the match as he passed Harbhajan Singh in the list of highest wickets for India.

Axel Patel:Axar had one of the most high-profile debuts in Test cricket with five five-wickets in four Tests for the country. These figures will make it difficult for the team management to ignore him.

Umesh Yadav:Yadav has shown time and time again how intelligent he is while bowling on the subcontinent pages.

Mohammed Siraj:Siraj could be brought in for the second Test in place of a faint Ishant Sharma. Siraj had a great start to his Test career and did well in the limited outings he had.
