- He finally won his first title this year by winning the Monte Carlo Masters last month.

- He finally won his first title in 2022 by defeating Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in the Monte Carlo Masters final.
- He bowed out in the quarterfinals of Barcelona Open by losing to Carlos Alcaraz 4-6, 7-5, 2-6.

- Meanwhile 28-year-old Lucas Pouille, started the year with a first-round defeat in the Australian Open.
- His best performance this year came in the Open 13, Quimper Challenger and Madrid Challenger. In all the three tournaments, he reached the quarterfinals.
- Before the Madrid Open, he faced a first round exit at Prague Challenger. He looked in fine touch in Madrid in his first round against Khachanov with a 6-3, 6-4 victory.
- He now faces a tough challenge against Tsitsipas in the second round.
