George Russell still leads FP2 session

William’s Alex Albon came out all guns blazing as he claimed the seventh spot in the FP1 session. He was then followed by Lewis Hamilton, who looked back to his usual best after claiming the eighth position. It was again a strong start from the Haas’ Kevin Magnussen as he finished ninth in the standings and he was followed by McLaren’s Daniel Ricciardo.

Lando Norris could only finish eleventh in the standings as he was followed by Alpine’s Fernando Alonso in the twelfth position. The rookie driver for Alfa Romeo, Guanyu Zhou finished in the thirteenth spot as he was followed by the veteran Sebastian Vettel in the fourteenth spot.

Alpine’s Esteban Ocon could only finish in the fifteenth spot and he was followed by Lance Stroll in the sixteenth spot. Alfa Romeo’s Valtteri Bottas, who crashed his car and damaged his rear wing finished in the seventeenth spot. Meanwhile, he was the only driver who crashed his car in the FP1 session.

AlphaTauri’s Yuki Tsunoda did not have a good outing today as he only managed to finish in the eighteenth spot. He was followed by Mick Schumacher, who has a lot to do ahead of the Miami Grand Prix.
