Chasing a target of 166, Mumbai Indians were dealt a big blow with Rohit Sharma departing in the first over. Ishan Kishan and Tilak Varma added 30 runs for the second wicket but the floodgates of wickets opened with Andre Russell removing him in the fifth over.
Ramandeep Singh added 37 runs with Ishan Kishan before falling to Andre Russell’s trap. Tim David soon followed suit. Ishan Kishan made a case for himself with a fighting 51 but his efforts were not enough.
Pat Cummins dealt the final blow with three wickets in his over including Kishan, Sams and Murugan Ashwin. In the end, Mumbai Indians were bowled out for 113 runs.

Jasprit Bumrah produced a magical figure of 5/10 to restrict Kolkata Knight Riders to 165/9. Bumrah who was criticized for losing his form, silenced the critics and produced a magnificent display.
Sent to bat, Kolkata Knight Riders were finally off to a good start with 60-run stand between Venkatesh Iyer and Ajinkya Rahane. But once Venkatesh Iyer departed, the scoring rate took a hit.
Jasprit Bumrah then wreaked havoc in the middle overs, removing Andre Russell, Nitish Rana, Sheldon Jackson, Pat Cummins and Sunil Narine to run through the KKR middle-order. In the end, KKR could only manage 165/9.
