While Swiatek went past Aryna Sabalenka for the third successive time this year, with a 6-2, 6-1 victory in the semifinal, Jabeur has made it to her third final on clay courts this year after clinching a nail-biting victory over Daria Kasatkina in three sets.

  • Iga Swiatek is now just a win away from surpassing Serena Williams’ record of 27 consecutive victories in the WTA tour.
  • The World No.1 is currently unstoppable on the tour as she has also won each of her first 10 matches, since becoming the World No.1.
  • She started the year with a semifinal defeat at the Adelaide International against Ashleigh Barty and reached the semifinal at the Australian Open, where she once again was ousted with a straight set defeat against Danielle Collins.
  • She then bowed out of the second round at the Dubai Tennis Championships. She entered the Qatar Open as the seventh seed and just dropped a solitary set in the tournament as she won her first title this year.
  • From then on, she has been on terrific form, completing the Sunshine Double by winning both the Indian Wells as well as the Miami Open title and dominated at Stuttgart by defeating Aryna Sabalenka in straight sets to win her fourth title.

  • Meanwhile, Ons Jabeur has been in a terrific form on clay this year. The World No.7 started her clay court sojourn this year by finishing as runner-up at Charleston Open after facing a three-set defeat against Belinda Bencic.
  • She then suffered a quarterfinal exit as she went down in three sets against Paula Badosa at the Stuttgart Open.
  • She then reached the final at Madrid Open and won her maiden WTA 1000 title by defeating Jessica Pegula 7-5, 0-6, 6-2.
  • At Italian Open, she entered the quarterfinals without dropping a set. She faced fourth seed Maria Sakkari in the last-8 round and won the game 1-6, 7-5, 6-1.
  • In the semifinal she was pushed to the hilt by Daria Kasatkina and Jabeur had to save a matchpoint to get to victory.
  • Earlier this year, she made three quarterfinal appearances on hardcourt tournaments.

Swiatek vs Jabeur Head-to-Head: This will be the fourth meeting between both the players. Jabeur leads the Head-to-Head record 2-1. They last met at Cincinatti in 2021 and Jabeur won the contest in straight sets. Swiatek is now a much-improved players and she enters the upcoming contest as the favorite.

Jabeur knows that she has to be at her absolute best to stand any chance of winning against Swiatek. After winning the semifinal, she said, “There is only one match left. I gave it all from the first round, now I should really continue giving my best. ”

Swiatek, who will break Serena Williams’ 27-match win streak if she wins the final believes sky is the limit for her. “I’m just constantly surprising myself that I can do better and better. I feel like I actually can believe now that the sky’s the limit. That’s the fun part, for sure. ”
